We’re still not entirely sure what to expect today. Ordinarily it’d be two fleet races for each group, followed by the Final. Whether Group A gets a third race in or not has not been communicated yet.
What we do know is it’s very tight in both groups and the top two from each progress to the Final. Stick with us for the best coverage throughout the day!

All to play for on Day 👀
No runaway leaders in either Group A or B overnight – remember, the number of races contested does not matter. You simply need to be in the top two to qualify for the Grand.
Right now, that honor belongs to ROCKWOOL Racing and Artemis in Group A, and BONDS Flying Roos and the Black Foils in Group B. A Scandinavian theme to one and an Australasian theme to the other.
For the U.S. SailGP Team, work to do to reach the Final but we saw only as recently as Valencia what a fleet race win can do for your fortunes.

So, what do we expect today? 🔮
There’s slightly more wind on Lac Léman than we saw yesterday, which is good news for foiling. But it will almost certainly mean teams have to sail short handed today.
For the U.S. SailGP Team, that means there are options. Grinder/jib trimmer Anna Weis has stepped up as strategist several times already this season and she could again if it’s four-up racing. Remember, even in four-up, you have to have two athletes behind the wheel now.
In five-up, the Crew would be able to afford a grinder on board so that could mean Andrew Campbell sat behind Martine Grael – or Anna who would otherwise be back in her G1 position at the front of the boat.
Strength in depth for the U.S. SailGP Team in what are sure to be tricky conditions.

We’re following along live from Lac Léman (yes, we heard you last year, there’s no such thing as Lake Geneva) for Day 1 of the Rolex Switzerland Sail Grand Prix.

The U.S. SailGP Team continue their run of European races when they head to the shores of Lake Geneva in September.
It will be the second time that Switzerland has held a SailGP event, adding to the anticipation surrounding this meeting.
With the business end of the season drawing into view, the racing action is sure to be fast and furious – but expect a degree of serenity away from the waterfront.
The French-speaking city is characterized by a charming old town full of cafés and boutiques, overlooked by the towering Cathedral of Saint Pierre.
