The ROCKWOOL Germany Sail Grand Prix delivered one of the fastest weekends of the season on the Baltic Sea.
Day 1 brought a new SailGP speed record, with the fleet chasing 30+ km/h gusts off Rügen. Day 2 flipped the script entirely, with heavy rain and shifting breeze putting the emphasis back on precision starts and clean execution.

1. Australia's masterclass in the Final
The BONDS Flying Roos were in a different gear entirely when they won the four-boat Final against NorthStar, Los Gallos and Black Foils.
Tom Slingsby's crew averaged 36.9 mph (59.4 km/h) throughout the Final, over 7.5 mph (12 km/h) faster than the rest of the pack, with Los Gallos the next closest at 29.4 mph (47.3 km/h). The Australians also sailed the most efficient track of the four boats, covering just 9,998 meters while every other Final contender was forced to sail well over 10,200 meters.
Faster and shorter – a combination that proved unanswerable, and one that stretched the Roos' championship lead to 14 points heading into Valencia.
2. A blistering top speed for the French
Fleet Race A3 on Day 1 delivered some of the fastest racing SailGP has ever seen, and DS Automobiles Team France capitalized in style, recording the event's outright highest speed.
Quentin Delapierre's crew pushed their F50 to a scarcely believable 66.8 mph (107.6 km/h), smashing the previous Sassnitz benchmark. It was a high-octane race for the whole fleet: ROCKWOOL Denmark (66.4 mph / 106.8 km/h) and Los Gallos (66.2 mph / 106.6 km/h) also clocked their absolute top speeds of the weekend in the very same sprint.
Three teams and three personal bests means Race A3 will go down as one of the memorable moments of the 2026 season.
3. Flawless execution by the U.S. SailGP Team
The United States delivered a crisp, controlled performance in their final fleet matchup of the weekend, Race B5.
Taylor Canfield's crew nailed the start, crossing the line just 0.3 seconds after the gun – the fastest reaction time in the fleet for that race. They backed up the aggressive start with perfect execution, holding 100% flight time for the entire race and never dropping off the foils once.
That combination of a razor-sharp start and flawless boat-handling delivered a 3rd-place finish, the team's best individual race result of the weekend.
