Update from the Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix ahead of Day 1 action
Published 05/30/2026
An adjusted racing format has been implemented for Day 1 of the Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix due to high winds impacting craning operations.
Four F50s have been launched with participating teams determined by current Championship standings. That means the U.S. SailGP Team, in P4, will compete.
Scoring will be adjusted to reflect the reduced fleet.
Despite extensive efforts to launch the full fleet, conditions have prevented the craning of all F50s due to winds exceeding the limits for craning operations.
There are currently no changes to tomorrow’s schedule with racing commencing at 3.30pm ET on Sunday, May 31.
