Foiling Forecast: Saint-Tropez

What can we expect from the weather on the French Riviera this weekend?
Published 09/10/2025
Conditions in Saint-Tropez throughout SailGP’s history have been notoriously varied – but what should we expect for the ROCKWOOL France Sail Grand Prix this week?
Remember, racing gets underway on Friday, September 12 at 1.30pm local time (CET) and starts at 12.30pm CET on Saturday, September 13.
We might be into the second week of September, but conditions on the Côte d’Azur look ideal on Day 1. Temperatures of 81f (27°C) are forecast on Saturday, with humidity at 48% and a 0% probability of precipitation.
A 13 mph South-southeast wind is expected, with gusts of up to 27 mph – significantly more wind than was forecast for Sassnitz last time out.
Conditions will, however, change in time for Day 2 on Sunday. The temperature is expected to drop slightly to 77f (25°C) with humidity at 76%. That is due to breezy and thundery rain conditions with 99% cloud coverage.
The probability of precipitation is up to 86% - though less than an inch is forecast - while the wind is expected to drop slightly to 15 mph West-southwest. Gusts of up to 23 mph should keep things interesting on the course, though!
