Enjoy some of the best moments from the 2026 Season
Published 10/21/2026
The 2026 Rolex SailGP Championship is nearing its conclusion – and it’s been an unforgettable campaign so far.
With 11 events complete and two to go, there has been no shortage of highlights from the sixth season of SailGP. We’ve recapped some of our favorites and you can vote for yours at the bottom!
1. First time 13 F50s race in Perth season opener
The 2026 SailGP Season has been the biggest and best so far – quite literally!
With the arrival of Artemis SailGP Team, representing Sweden, 13 F50s lined up on the start line together for the first time Down Under in Perth, back in January.
2. U.S. SailGP Team bags first win in Sydney
The U.S. SailGP Team secured its first victory under the current ownership in February by winning the KPMG Sydney Sail Grand Prix.
Taylor Canfield and the Crew were the Rolex Sprint Leader in the Final and held off Emirates GBR from there on out to clinch an unforgettable win Down Under – their first since winning in Cádiz during the 2023 Season.
3. Speed record broken again in Sassnitz
The picturesque German town of Sassnitz is written into SailGP lore.
For the second season in a row, Sassnitz saw the speed record tumble. After ROCKWOOL Racing went over 100kph in 2025, DS Automobiles Team France went further in 2026, hitting an incredible 107.63 km/h in August. What will 2027 hold?
4. Newcomers Artemis' first race win
It was clear from their off-season recruitment drive that Artemis was not here to make up the numbers. Nathan Outteridge’s star-studded crew laid down an immediate marker by clinching their first race win in the season’s curtain-raiser in Perth. Message sent.
5. U.S. SailGP Team’s female duo make history
Anna Weis and Martine Grael are already SailGP’s trailblazers. The first full-time grinder and driver combined to make yet more history in Geneva in September when they raced together for the U.S. SailGP Team, in doing so becoming the first female duo to race an F50.
6. Italy reaches its first Final in Valencia
The fleet is tighter and more competitive than ever before and, just to underline it, Red Bull Italy reached its first Final at the 2026 Spain Sail Grand Prix in Valencia.
That means 12 of 13 teams have now reached an event Final in 2026.

7. New Zealand returns to the start line in Halifax
The Black Foils’ high-speed collision with DS Team France at their home event in Auckland was one of the most dramatic - and terrifying - moments of the 2026 SailGP Season.
So it was great to see the Kiwis back on the start line at the Canada Grand Prix in Halifax, having missed four events while their F50 was re-built from scratch by SailGP Technologies.
8. U.S. SailGP Team doubles up in Spain
Not content with hoisting the hardware in Sydney, the U.S. SailGP Team secured another slice of history in Valencia by winning multiple events in the same season for the first time ever.
In marginal foiling conditions again, the Crew sailed a perfect Sunday to bag another win on the 2026 campaign and keep their Grand Final hopes alive.
