SailGP returns to Saint-Tropez next week for the fourth edition of the ROCKWOOL France Sail Grand Prix – and drama is virtually guaranteed!
The French Riviera has delivered plenty of highs and lows for the U.S. SailGP Team over the past three seasons, and the best moments are captured below.
Season 2 saw the U.S. SailGP Team make it to the Final of the first-ever France Sail Grand Prix hosted in Saint-Tropez, missing out to Nathan Outteridge and Japan to finish second. Phil Robertson and Spain came home in third.
Fast-forward 12 months and a team including current team members Andrew Campbell, Mac Agnese and Hans Henken won the Range Rover France Sail Grand Prix, beating out New Zealand and Emirates Great Britain to claim the team's first-ever event win.
From highs to lows, however, Season 4 saw Jimmy Spithill's crew suffer and unfortunate capsize during practice. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident as the U.S. SailGP Team recovered superbly and went on to finish fifth overall.
