Anna: Why Lindsey Vonn Is a Beast & My 2025 Highlights

Anna Weis speaks directly to fans of the U.S. SailGP Team ahead of the New Year

It’s a time of year for reflection as we head into the New Year and it’s been an amazing year. I’ve had so many highlights there’s been too many to mention.
Off the water, I’ve been so fortunate getting to work with our partners like AG1 and Tommy Hilfier, who have been amazing. I’ve had so many cool opportunities with them, and I feel really grateful.
Going back to San Francisco, Hans and I went to a Warriors game and met Draymond Green, which was super cool. I also got to go to Formula 1 in Miami with Mike and hang out with the Tommy and Red Bull team. It’s moments like this where I think, ‘What is my life?!’ That’s definitely a highlight perk of the job.

On the water, there are a lot of moments, but I’d probably say our most-recent event in Abu Dhabi was my personal highlight. Not because of the result, but because we finally came together as a team and executed on things we’d been working on.
A lot of the time, you’re so close but don’t see it on the scoreboard. That event felt like a really positive direction for us. We still have so much to work on, but pulling ourselves out of a tough middle part of the season and starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel was huge.
I really feel like we have an amazing team, especially with the new members. They bring such a unique perspective and professionalism. It honestly feels like a completely new team at this point and that really excites me ahead of the new season.
I am someone who sets New Year’s Resolutions and I’ve been reflecting a lot, especially after following U.S. SailGP Team board member Lindsay Vonn and her recent win in St. Moritz.
It’s incredibly inspiring and motivating to see her out there kicking ass, and it really reinforces how important mindset is and how you can shape your day and your life with a positive mindset.

My overarching theme is no negative energy – whether that’s self-talk or outward energy. That’s what I want to focus on, so I can show up as the best athlete and person I can be. It’s easier said than done, but it’s something I’ve been thinking a lot about.
Seeing someone at 41 being told she was too slow and then going on to win and get another World Cup win and multiple other medals is incredibly inspiring. She’s a beast, but so much of it is mindset. I look up to Lindsey and am constantly inspired by her. I sent her a text saying, “Let’s f****** go,” and she replied, “F*** yeah.” I’m certainly hoping to bring a bit of that energy into the new season!
Thank you again for all your support next season and I wish every one of our fans the best for a happy and healthy 2026.
Anna
