The SailGP fleet returns to Sassnitz for the second Germany Sail Grand Prix this weekend (August 22-23) – but what will the weather bring?
High temperatures in mainland Europe are gradually subsiding and, on Saturday, temperatures should not exceed 66f. Variable cloudiness with occasional showers (69% likelihood) are forecast but any rain should amount to less than 2mm.
West North-Westerly winds of around 11.8mph are expected but could gust up to 22.8mph which should ensure top-end race conditions for fans in attendance.
On Sunday, it’s a very similar story albeit with sunnier conditions anticipated. The temperature will remain around 66f but the chance of precipitation is just 2 per cent.
Stronger winds are expected too - which is good news for foiling conditions! A Westerly wind of 12.4mph should be the least teams can expect. Gusts of up to 36.6mph could make things interesting on Super Sunday.
