The U.S. SailGP Team returns to action in Australia this weekend for the Sydney Sail Grand Prix, with racing set for Saturday, 28 February and Sunday, 1 March on Sydney Harbor.
The Race Stadium will be open from 15:00 – 19:30 AEDT on both days, with racing scheduled from 17:30 – 19:00 AEDT.
With moderate breeze forecast across the weekend, conditions currently look suitable for racing – though Saturday’s potential thunderstorms could create variable pressure across the course.Â
Saturday looks set to be warm and humid, with a high of 26°C (expected to feel like 33°C) and more cloud than sun. A north-northeasterly wind of 15 km/h is forecast, with gusts reaching 33 km/h.
There is a 55% chance of precipitation and the possibility of isolated afternoon thunderstorms, which could bring a shifting breeze across the racecourse.
Conditions ease on Sunday, with temperatures around 24°C and cloudy skies. Winds are expected to shift south-southeasterly at approximately 7 km/h, with gusts up to 22 km/h.
The chance of rain drops to 25%, setting up what could be a more tactical second day on the water.
Be sure to follow all the action via the U.S. SailGP Team App and social media channels throughout the weekend.
