What Time Is The Perth Sail Grand Prix For Me?

Everything you need to know about when to watch the opening race of 2026…
Published 01/16/2026
The wait for the 2026 SailGP Season is almost over, with the Oracle Perth Sail Grand Prix presented by KPMG just a matter of days away.
As excitement builds ahead of the Rolex SailGP Championship opener, attention from across the globe is set to turn on Fremantle in Western Australia.
But wherever you’ll be tuning in from, we’ve got all the information you need to avoid missing a second of the action.
Both Saturday and Sunday’s races get underway at 1pm local time (AWDT), which is also the start time if you’re in Beijing, China (CST).
That’s not the case if you’re on the other side of Australia, though, with Sydney-based fans needing to tune in for 4pm.
And it’s an early evening start if you’re in New Zealand, with proceedings commencing at 6:00pm NZDT.
Things actually begin the previous day for some American viewers, however. Event 1 kicks off at 7pm on Friday / Saturday for those watching in Hawaii, 8:00pm in Alaska and 9pm if you’re on the West Coast.
Then it’s 10pm for fans on Mountain Time, before we tick over into the following day on the East Coast (midnight).
That trend continues in South America, with those in Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and Montevideo needing to set their alarm clocks for a somewhat less palatable 2am!
European start times are pleasant by comparison, though anyone watching from the United Kingdom will still be waking up for 5am, with an extra hour in bed for fans in Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain and Italy (6am).
Whatever time the Perth Sail Grand Prix starts in your country, don’t forget to follow our Live Blog on the U.S. SailGP Team App and social channels.
