SailGP Team Guide: Everything You Need To Know About Emirates GBR
Get the lowdown on the Emirates GBR SailGP Team ahead of the 2026 Season…
Published 01/2/2026
Emirates GBR made history in 2025, becoming just the third Rolex SailGP Championship winners by clinching the Grand Final in Abu Dhabi.
Dylan Fletcher’s crew will therefore rightly be among the favorites ahead of the 2026 Season. Here’s everything you need to know about the Brits:
Joined SailGP: Season 1
Crew:
Dylan Fletcher (Driver), Hannah Mills (Strategist), Stuart Bithell (Wing Trimmer), Luke Parkinson (Flight Controller), Neil Hunter (Grinder), Nick Hutton (Grinder), Kai Hockley (Development), Ellie Aldridge (Reserve), Ben Cornish (Reserve)
Story of 2025:
A stunning second half of the season – kickstarted by a 2nd-place finish in Portsmouth at the British Grand Prix – catapulted Emirates GBR into Grand Final contention.
The Brits won event number three in Sydney, completing a podium 2-3-1 to start the campaign. But they were 7th and 8th in San Francisco and New York respectively and losing ground.
From that point on, Fletcher’s crew were only out of the top four once: the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Sail Grand Prix when their Grand Final berth was already guaranteed.

In the Grand Final, the Brits clawed their way back from last place and into first with a stunning maneuver at Leg 4 that eventually clinched victory with room to spare.
Fletcher and co. were able to lap up the appreciation of the crowd on the sea wall as they crossed the line comfortably ahead of the BONDS Flying Roos and New Zealand Black Foils.
No one recorded more points (90) in the Rolex SailGP Championship in 2025 and the British team also bagged more wins (3) and podiums (8) than anyone else.
Off-Season Business:
Emirates GBR was one of several teams involved in the off-season wing trimmer shuffle as the Athlete Transfer Framework came into play for the first time.
Australian wing trimmer Iain ‘Goobs’ Jensen left for his homeland and the BONDS Flying Roos after their trimmer, Chris Draper, joined the newly-formed Artemis SailGP Team.
Filling that spot on the F50, therefore, is a familiar face in Stuart Bithell. Fresh from serving on the Germany SailGP Team presented by Deutsche Bank, Bithell was the team’s flight controller during Season 1 in 2019.
An Olympic gold medalist in the 49er class at the 2020 Games in Tokyo alongside his new long-time team-mate and rival, Fletcher, Bithell also won silver in the 470 at London 2012.
In 2022, Bithell’s services to sailing were recognised as he was appointed Member of the British Empire (MBE) in the New Year Honours list.
