U.S. SailGP Team strengthens its roster prior to Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix

The U.S. SailGP Team has strengthened its roster ahead of this weekend’s Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix with the addition of Andrew Campbell.
Campbell, from San Diego, CA., brings a wealth of experience to the U.S. SailGP Team having previously raced at the 2017, 2021 and 2024 editions of the America’s Cup with American Magic and ORACLE Team USA.
U.S. SailGP Team CEO and Co-owner Mike Buckley said: We’re delighted to add Andrew to the U.S. SailGP Team. He is a world-class athlete with an extensive background and a proven track record of success.
“As an organization, we never rest in the pursuit of progress and are constantly looking for ways to improve. We believe Andrew’s addition to the roster enables us to do that.”

The Georgetown University alumnus competed in the Laser class at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, having won the Laser Olympic qualifiers in Newport, Rhode Island.
At Georgetown, Campbell led the No.1 ranked Hoyas in the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association National Championships and won three singlehanded national championships (2003, 05, 06).
He was named an ICSA All-American in four straight years, male Sailing Athlete of the Year in 2002 and 2005, and College Sailor of the Year in 2006.
