The U.S. SailGP Team confirms that grinder and jib trimmer Anna Weis has re-signed for the 2026 SailGP Season.
Weis, who first joined the U.S. SailGP Team on a trial basis in 2021, has since become a core member of the crew. She made history as the first woman in SailGP to serve as a full-time grinder, one of the most physically demanding roles in the sport.
Speaking after re-signing with the U.S. SailGP Team, Anna said: "I’m stoked to continue racing with the U.S. SailGP Team. We have a great group of people who are hungry to improve. I can’t wait to kick off the season in Perth very soon!"
An Olympic sailor in the Nacra 17 class, Anna made a powerful comeback after double arm surgeries in 2019, going on to win gold at the Pan American Games in Lima and competing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Off the water, she’s passionate about keeping young women in sport and expanding access to high-performance sailing. Her pioneering role on the U.S. SailGP Team reflects her dedication to building a more inclusive future for the sport.
