The SailGP fleet heads to Valencia for the first time this weekend (September 5-6), as the Spain Sail Grand Prix moves venues after four seasons in Cádiz – but what will the weather bring?
Conditions look set to stay warm and largely dry for Valencia's SailGP debut. On Saturday, temperatures should reach around 88f, with scattered cloud cover but no meaningful rain risk.
Moderate East winds of around 7mph are expected, gusting up to 19mph as the afternoon builds – steady breeze that should keep the fleet foiling through qualifying.
On Sunday, it's a similar picture with temperatures nudging up to 91f. Cloud cover stays light to scattered.
Winds pick up slightly for the finals – a Southeast breeze of around 8mph, with gusts up to 21mph, should give the top two from both fleets enough to work with as the Championship picture takes shape at SailGP's newest European stop.
