The U.S. SailGP Team confirms that Winger Trimmer Michael Menninger has re-signed for the 2026 SailGP Season.
Menninger joined the U.S. SailGP Team ahead of the Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix in June 2025, making a sizable contribution to the team in the second half of the season.
Speaking after re-signing for the Crew, Michael said: “I’m excited to re-sign with the U.S. SailGP Team for the 2026 Season. We’ve got a great group of people coming back, strong momentum, and a clear focus on raising our performance. I can’t wait to get back to work in Perth and start building toward a strong season.”
A world champion in team racing, match racing, and the Etchells class, Michael recently served as starting trimmer and flight controller with American Magic in the America’s Cup, helping the team win the Preliminary Regatta in Vilanova, Spain.
