Flight Controller Hans Henken has re-signed with the U.S. SailGP Team ahead of the 2026 SailGP Season

The U.S. SailGP Team confirms that Flight Controller Hans Henken has re-signed for the 2026 SailGP Season.
Olympic bronze medallist Henken first joined the U.S. SailGP Team in Season 1 and has previously served as a Grinder on the F50.
Speaking after re-signing for the upcoming campaign, Hans said: “Re-signing with the U.S. SailGP Team allows me to continue contributing to the team’s growth in performance, culture, and identity, while advancing my development as a professional flight controller in SailGP. 
“My focus is on execution, collaboration, and maintaining the high standards that drive results, as we work to position ourselves as consistent podium contenders.”
California native Hans was a Pan American Games gold medalist at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, and was recognized as the 2024 Rolex Yachtsman of the Year, one of the sport’s most prestigious individual honors. 
On his Olympic debut, Hans won the first medal for Team USA in sailing since Rio 2016 and the first medal in the 49er class since Sydney 2000.
