Joining the fleet alongside Mubadala Brazil, Red Bull Italy were debutants in 2025 but quickly showed what they were capable of.
A trio of P3s at Event No.2 in Auckland was testament to their quality, contributing to an overall P6 on the event. A P5 in Portsmouth at the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix was further indication of what was to come.
Red Bull Italy enjoyed a solid maiden campaign in SailGP
By the time the fleet reached Saint-Tropez, Italy recorded their first-ever race win as the weekend’s action was cut short due to thunder and lightning in the area.
But the best was yet to come – a P2 to round out the season in the Middle East after going 8-4-3-7-5-6.
Off the water, a touch of Hollywood glamour was added with the news A-lister Anne Hathaway had joined the team’s ownership group as part of a consortium led by Muse Capital founding partner, Assia Grazioli Venier, and luxury brand entrepreneur, Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo.
Off-Season Business:
Italy’s big piece of business came before the 2025 Season ended with former Canada driver Phil Robertson joining the roster. He took Ruggero Tita’s seat for the first time in Abu Dhabi but both men will be on the squad this season.
Robertson has also previously raced with China and Spain. He boasts M32 World Championship wins in 2017 and 2018 and a World Championship gold medal from his time with the Waka match racing team.
Other exits have seen grinder Alex Sinclair move to NorthStar Canada, while strategist Julia Gross and jib trimmer Brad Farrand link up with Artemis SailGP Team.
