The European leg of the SailGP season starts with the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix in Portsmouth this weekend – and here are all the key timings you need to know.
The race window is between 4pm and 5:30pm British Summer Time (BST) on both Saturday and Sunday in Hampshire.
For viewers tuning in from the West Coast (PDT) of the United States to cheer on the U.S. SailGP Team, that will mean a start time of 8am. Anyone planning to watch the weekend’s action in the MDT zone will begin their viewing an hour later at 9am. It’s a 10am start for those on CDT and 11am for those on EDT.
In South America, SailGP fans in Rio de Janeiro have a more leisurely start with racing getting underway from 12pm. It’s the same in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, and Buenos Aires, Argentina’s capital.
Heading to Europe, fans in France, Germany, Switzerland and mainland Spain who are on Central European Summer Time (CEST) will need to tune in from 5pm to catch the weekend’s action.
In the United Arab Emirates, it’ll be an early evening start with the session commencing at 7pm.
For SailGP followers in Oceania, it’s a case of early morning or late night - depending on how you view it! In Sydney it’ll be 1am when the action gets going and in Auckland, it’ll be 3am!
Wherever you’re tuning in from, make sure to follow along on both days via the U.S. SailGP Team live blog and our social channels.
