What Time Is The Sydney Sail Grand Prix?

Everything you need to know to tune in live from Sydney Harbour
Published 02/24/2026
SailGP returns to one of its most iconic venues as the KPMG Sydney Sail Grand Prix lands on Sydney Harbour on February 28 and March 1, 2026.
Ahead of a record sixth visit to the harbour, the Australian event has become a cornerstone of the summer sporting calendar. Fans can expect two days of high-speed, close-quarters racing as Tom Slingsby’s BONDS Flying Roos look to make home water advantage count.
Both Saturday and Sunday’s racing begins at 5:30pm local time (AEDT), with action running through to 7:00pm. Times are approximate and may shift slightly depending on weather and racing conditions.
But what does that mean if you’re following the U.S. SailGP Team?
United States start times
For fans in Hawaii, racing begins at 8:30pm on Friday, February 27 and Saturday, February 28. In Alaska, it’s a 9:30pm start on those same evenings.
On the U.S. West Coast (PT), racing gets underway at 10:30pm Saturday and Sunday.
Viewers on Mountain Time (MT) can tune in at 11:30pm, while fans on the East Coast (ET) are looking at a 1:30am start.
It’s a late night - or an early morning - but hopefully Taylor Canfield and the Crew will reward your commitment!
Around the world
In Rio de Janeiro, Montevideo and Buenos Aires, fans will be setting alarms for 6:30am.
Across the Atlantic, racing begins at 6:30am in the United Kingdom (GMT) and 7:30am in Central Europe (CET).
In Beijing (CST), the action starts at 2:30pm. In Dubai (GST) racing begins at 10:30pm.
Back in Australia, it’s a 2:30pm start in Perth (AWST). In New Zealand (NZDT), racing begins at 7:30pm.
Wherever you’re watching from, make sure you’re ready for the first race at 5:30pm AEDT on both February 28 and March 1.
After Sydney, the Rolex SailGP Championship heads to South America for Event 04 – the ENEL Rio Sail Grand Prix in Rio, April 11–12, 2026.
