In just their third season in SailGP, the newly re-branded NorthStar Canada SailGP Team laid down an impressive marker in 2025.
Led by former Emirates GBR driver Giles Scott, Canada claimed three consecutive podium finishes in the first half of the season. Can they build on that in 2026?

Story of 2025:
NorthStar Canada opened the season with a seventh place finish in Dubai. In Auckland, flight controller Billy Gooderham was injured during official practice and, while he was cleared of serious injury, the team did not compete on Day 2.
Thankfully, he was cleared of any serious injury and made a swift recovery – but the team could not race on Day 2.

However, Canada rebounded over the next three events with a trio of podium finishes in Sydney, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The undoubted highlight of the season came in LA (3-2-5-6-3-3-5), where Scott’s crew claimed their first event win.
Sitting nicely in P5 at the halfway stage of the season, NorthStar struggled to build on that momentum in the second half of the campaign.
However, they finished the season strongly with a P4 in Abu Dhabi after going 2-6-12-6-2-7 to underline their strength once more.
Off-Season Business:
NorthStar have been active in the off-season, signing up experienced grinder Alex Sinclair to bolster their grinding ranks. Sinclair spent three seasons with the U.S. SailGP Team before signing for Red Bull Italy in 2025.
Also joining the Canadians is Nicholas Rolaz, who joins as a reserve athlete to fortify the roster.
