Ares Sports, Media and Entertainment funds (Ares) has acquired a minority stake in the France SailGP Team – joining France and Real Madrid soccer star Kylian Mbappé.
This news follows a string of high-profile investments in SailGP Teams in recent weeks. During the Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix week, it was revealed Hollywood superstars Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds had acquired the newly named BONDS Flying Roos.
Prior to that, Red Bull Italy was acquired by a female-led consortium that included Hollywood royalty Anne Hathaway, among others.
Ares has an extensive track record in sports, media and entertainment investment – including Major League Soccer franchise Inter Miami CF, McLaren Racing and LaLiga giants Atlético de Madrid.
