The SailGP calendar takes the U.S. SailGP Team to Germany for the first time this weekend – but what can we expect from the weather in Sassnitz?
An idyllic resort town situated on the German island of Rügen, Sassnitz is the home of the inaugural Germany Sail Grand Prix from Saturday, August 16 and until Sunday, August 17.

Saturday’s racing, due to begin at 3.30pm local time (CET) is expected to be warm and sunny with temperatures reaching 22℃ (72 °F) and 49% humidity. Northwest winds of 9mph are expected, with gusts of up to 18mph.
On Sunday, we’re set for more of the same. Another warm and dry day should see temperatures of 22℃ (72 °F) with the wind once more expected to be 9mph in a North-Westerly direction. Gusts of up to 18mph could make things interesting on the water.
