Rolex Switzerland Sail Grand Prix 2026: Schedule, Standings, How To Watch

Everything you need to know ahead of the weekend in one place
Published 09/17/2026
The 2026 Rolex SailGP Championship is reaching its climax as the fleet heads to Geneva for the Switzerland Sail Grand Prix.
Just two events remain after this weekend’s racing and the fight to secure places at the Grand Final in Abu Dhabi in November is hotting up.
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the second instalment of the Rolex Switzerland Sail Grand Prix.
When is the Switzerland Sail Grand Prix?
The Rolex Switzerland Sail Grand Prix will take place on Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20.
What will the weather be like for the Switzerland Sail Grand Prix?
Conditions should be warm and dry in Geneva, with very limited threat of rain on Lac Leman
Temperatures of around 73f and upward are expected to be consistent throughout. This is a light-air venue though, and teams should expect to adapt accordingly.
Who will be racing at the Switzerland Sail Grand Prix?
The U.S. SailGP Team leads Los Gallos and ROCKWOOL Racing at the Spain Sail Grand Prix in Valencia
All 13 boats are once again back on the start line ahead of the weekend which should make for some exciting racing on Lac Leman.
Split fleet racing is again in place with Groups A and B splitting the 13-strong fleet based on recent performance.
How does a SailGP event work?
The split fleet takes part in five fleet races across Saturday (3) and Sunday (2). Points are awarded based on position with five points going to each race winner, all the way to 1 point for 5th. Anyone placed 6th or lower gets zero points.
After 10 races across the two fleets, the four teams with the most points contest a winner-takes-all Final.
Event points are then distributed based on the same criteria, with the event winner adding 10 to their seasonal tally, P2 taking 9 points, P3 taking 8 points and so on.
What happened at the Valencia Sail Grand Prix?
The U.S. SailGP Team celebrates winning the 2026 Spain Sail Grand Prix in Valencia
The U.S. SailGP Team clinched its second event win of the 2026 Season, stunning the BONDS Flying Roos at the final mark in a dramatic Final.
The Crew qualified for the Super Sunday showdown by winning the only fleet race of the day, building on a Day 1 which saw them go 2-3-3.
Hosts Los Gallos looked to have booked their place in the Final before a disappointing P6 on Day 2 cost them dear.
2026 Rolex SailGP Championship Standings
The BONDS Flying Roos (85pts) remain top of the 2026 Rolex SailGP Championship and - bar any point deductions - have secured their Grand Final ticket.
Los Gallos have control of P2 with 68 points despite coming up short in Valencia a fortnight ago.
That win in Spain saw the U.S. SailGP Team (56 pts) leapfrog Artemis (55pts) into P3, while Emirates GBR finds itself down in P5 on 51 pts.
