Will the weather be conducive to foiling in Spain this weekend? Here’s everything you need to know…

The European leg of SailGP Season 5 concludes with a familiar venue this weekend, as the fleet heads to Cádiz in Analucía for the DP World Spain Sail Grand Prix.
Taking place across Saturday, October 4 and Sunday, October 5, it’s the penultimate event before the season concludes in Abu Dhabi with the winner-takes-all Grand Final contested between the top three teams.
After light air conditions in Geneva last time out, teams will be hoping for more wind to get up and foiling with greater frequency in Cádiz. Racing begins at 3.30pm CET on both days, and here’s what you can expect.
On Saturday, conditions will be warm and dry on the Southern peninsula of Spain. Temperatures are expected to be 78f (25.5c) with a humidity of 68%. No rain is currently forecast, with cloud cover at 42%.
A 10mph (16 km/hr) westerly wind is forecast, with gusts of up to 18mph (28.9 km/hr). Remember, with the new high-speed foil set up, teams need to achieve a boat speed of 28 km/hr to get up and foiling.
It’s a very similar picture on Sunday, with long sunny spells forecast throughout the day. Temperatures should be around 76f (24.4c) with humidity reaching 70%. Again, it is likely to remain dry with no rain forecast.
Any cloud cover is forecast to clear completely with a 9mph (14.4 km/hr) WSW wind blowing through. Gusts of up to 16 mph (25.7 km/hr) are expected, too.
