The U.S. SailGP Team returns to action in Brazil this weekend for the inaugural Rio Sail Grand Prix, with racing set for Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12 on Guanabara Bay.
Racing is scheduled to begin at 3pm (BRT) on both days. To check the time in your region, click here.
With warm temperatures and moderate breeze forecast, conditions currently look favorable for racing – though Rio’s coastal setting could deliver shifting winds across the racecourse.
Saturday looks set to be hot and humid, with a high of 84°F (expected to feel like 93°F) and a mix of sun and cloud. An easterly breeze of around 17 km/h is forecast, with gusts reaching up to 30 km/h.
There is a 40% chance of precipitation and the possibility of brief passing showers, which could create patchy pressure and variable conditions across the course.
Conditions remain similar on Sunday, with temperatures around 82°F and partly cloudy skies. Winds are expected to hold easterly at approximately 15 km/h, with gusts up to 28 km/h.
The chance of rain drops slightly, setting up what could be a more consistent second day of racing on the water.
Be sure to follow all the action via the U.S. SailGP Team app and social media channels throughout the weekend.
