That was a frustrating weekend all round for the U.S. SailGP Team, who finish the Germany Sail Grand Prix in P11 with no points. Not the result we wanted, but it’ll only serve to motivate us more for the next outing in Valencia in a couple of weeks. We’ll see you then!

The remaining crews are barely moving as they creep towards the line, but the Black Foils are hit with a penalty for not giving room at the boundary. Northstar Canada cross the line in P2 as the Flying Roos team is already off the boat and on dry land! Then it’s P3 to Los Gallos by a tiny margin over the Black Foils in P4.

Championship leaders the Bonds Flying Roos extend their advantage in the standings with an overall win here in Sassnitz, and by a huge margin too. Behind them, ESP, NZL and CAN are all off the foils and are absolutely crawling towards the line!

Group A are about to head out for their final race of the day. The Black Foils have already guaranteed a spot in the event final along with CAN and AUS, but the final of the four spots is still up for grabs between DS Automobiles France and Los Gallos. This could get interesting!

Canada wins! 🇨🇦
It’s P1 for Northstar Canada, who lock in a spot in the final as do P2 finishers, the Bonds Flying Roos. The U.S. SailGP Team pick up some much-needed season points with a P3 finish, but it’s not enough to move the Crew up off the bottom of the Group table for this event. We’ll come back stronger in Valencia!

Another tight moment, this time between Artemis Sweden and the U.S. SailGP Team as they cross paths while battling for P3. Artemis just maintain it, but they’ve sailed into a patch of light wind and the Crew move up to P3!

Group B is heading back out for their final Group Race of the weekend, and after a wet start, the sun is now shining in Sassnitz. A spot in the final is out of the question for the U.S. SailGP Team, but let’s give it everything we’ve got!

How things stand with one Group Race to go 📊
As a reminder, the top two teams of each Group go through to today’s final. From Group A, the Black Foils have guaranteed themselves a spot, while DS Automobiles France sit P2 with a healthy three-point margin. It’s tighter in Group B, with Northstar Canada and Artemis Sweden sitting joint first with 12 points each, and Deutsche Bank Germany and the Bonds Flying Roos both just a point behind.

NZL sailed a controlling race there, and after yesterday’s strong showing, back themselves the first guaranteed spot in today’s final. It’s Los Gallos after that, and DS Automobiles France just pip Rockwool Denmark to P3. Then it’s SUI, BRA, ITA.

It's a win for GER 🇩🇪
Despite a couple of scares, Deutsche Bank Germany sailed a pretty faultless race there, and take the second win of the weekend in front of a very happy-looking home crowd. Northstar Canada come home P2, Artemis Sweden P3, Emirates GBR P4, Bonds Flying Roos P5, and sadly, P6 and last for the U.S. SailGP Team.

After running away with the lead, Deutsche Bank Germany have found a windless pocket, and Northstar Canada has closed the gap. GER still leads, though, with the U.S. SailGP Team in P4.

ICYMI, SailGP events now split the field into two separate groups which race in fleets of six or seven yachts at each event. For Sassnitz, the U.S. SailGP Team is in Group B along with SWE, AUS, GER, CAN and GBR, and we’re running in the first race of the day at 13:08.

Welcome back to Germany’s Baltic Sea cost for another day of SailGP racing from the stunning resort town of Sassnitz. Yesterday was a tough one for the Crew with two P4s and a P5 in our group races meaning we currently sit at the bottom of Group B. Time to push hard and give it everything today!

That’s a wrap on the first day’s racing in Sassnitz, and it’s not the result we were hoping for. Racing kicks off again at 2pm local time tomorrow, where the U.S. SailGP Team will be hoping to claw back some points.

After not looking too quick for the first two races of the day, Spain has come back to take P1 in Race A3. Then it’s FRA, NZL, SWI, ITA, DEN, and finally BRA, who are having a weekend to forget so far.

Germany takes a hugely popular home win, but it’s pure chaos behind! The U.S. have slowed right down and dropped down to fifth. It’s GER, CAN, SWE, GBR, USA, AUS for the final result.

It’s a boundary penalty for the second-placed Canadian squad too. Everyone trying to maximise these gusty conditions, but the U.S. hasn’t quite been able to capitalise, and drops down into P4 behind AUS.

The German squad, leading the race, strays out of the boundary and is hit with a penalty, but after briefly dropping into P2 behind CAN, they’re back in front. Still P3 for the U.S.!

Welcome along to the ninth event of the 2026 Rolex SailGP season, from the town of Sassnitz on the beautiful Baltic Sea island of Rügen. We’re expecting high winds and big speeds today, so buckle up: this should be an exciting one!

The U.S. SailGP Team will be eagerly anticipating their second trip to the idyllic island of Rügen, with its towering chalk cliffs, beaches and coastal walks.
Those heading to the Jasmund peninsula will enjoy a great view of the action, as well as spectacular scenery away from the race.
The Jasmund National Park is packed full of breathtaking natural landscapes, while the Fishing and Harbour Museum will be right up the alley of nautical enthusiasts.
The 2025 SailGP Season brought drama aplenty with the ROCKWOOL Denmark setting a new SailGP speed record at 103.93 km/hr.
