That's a wrap in Rio 🇧🇷
What a way to introduce SailGP to South America! Beautiful weather, stunning scenery and great racing – what more could you want? Even if the Crew narrowly missed out on the final, we should still be massively proud P4 overall is still plenty to be proud of. Taylor Canfield is named one of the Precision Athletes of the Day too!
Congrats to the BONDS Flying Roos for their event win, and we’ll see you in Bermuda in four weeks’ time.
04/12/2026
Flying Roos take home the win 🏆
Nobody’s been able to touch the BONDS Flying Roos today – they won all three fleet races and have rounded out the weekend with victory in the final and an overall event win. It’s P2 for Los Gallos and P3 for Artemis Sweden after their penalty.
04/12/2026
Flying Roos take the lead again 🥇
The BONDS Flying Roos stayed up on the foils while Artemis Sweden dropped off them, and now the Swedish crew have been hit with a one-place penalty for impeding the Spanish. It looks like the Aussies are set to top off a dominant day with an event win.
04/12/2026
The field splits ⬅️ ➡️
AUS and SWE go left at the first mark, ESP roll the dice and go right.
04/12/2026
Perfect timing for AUS and SWE ⏱
Both Artemis Sweden and the BONDS Flying Roos nailed that start, but Los Gallos aren’t far behind. The Australians lead proceedings so far.
04/12/2026
One minute to go 🕧
We’re 60 seconds off from the final starting, as the three remaining teams make for the box – Artemis Sweden are winding it up early.
04/12/2026
It's almost final time 🏆
If you’re joining us for the first time, the three teams that accrued the most points over the last seven races now progress into a winner takes all final. Today, that’s the BONDS Flying Roos, Artemis Sweden and Los Gallos. The U.S. SailGP Team came so close after sitting in the top three for most of the weekend, but we hope you’ll still join us for coverage of the final in just a few moments.
04/12/2026
The Crew come home in P7 🗽
That’s P7 and four more points for the U.S. SailGP Team, which means we just miss out on the final, despite phenomenal efforts from Taylor and the Crew all weekend. We come home in P4 in the event with 40 pts, so still a result to be proud of!
04/12/2026
Unstoppable Roos 🦘
The top three for the final fleet race of the weekend is AUS, GER, SWE. The BONDS Flying Roos have won every race of the day so far.
04/12/2026
Big moment for Artemis! 😱
A big gust of wind gets underneath the Swedish boat, but they recover it. The BONDS Flying Roos have once again been unstoppable in Race 7.
04/12/2026
Los Gallos pull it back 😲
The Spanish squad come from miles back on the foils while the Crew is caught in congestion – it’s now Los Gallos in P5 and the U.S. SailGP Team in P8. Let’s give it one last push!
04/12/2026
Looking good for the Crew 🤞
Priority number one for the U.S. SailGP Team in this race is finishing ahead of Los Gallos, and it’s looking good as we head into leg 3 – the Crew runs P5, with Los Gallos in P11.
04/12/2026
It's a DSQ for France! ❌
DS Automobiles France gets disqualified for not keeping clear! 11 teams remain, with SWE, SUI, AUS topping the table.
04/12/2026
A minute out for Race 7 ⌚️
The U.S. SailGP Team needs to give it everything to make the final – here we go!
04/12/2026
The points heading into Race 7 📊
1. AUS - 48
2. SWE - 41
3. ESP - 40
———
4. USA - 36
5. DEN - 32
6. ITA - 31
As a reminder, only the top three teams progress into the winner-takes-all final, and the Crew only has one more race to get back onto the podium. Let’s go!
04/12/2026
Not the result we needed 😣
After a chaotic fleet Race 6, the U.S. SailGP Team comes home in P8. That drops the Crew out of the top three going into the final fleet race of the weekend, but it’s not over yet. Let’s give it everything in Race 7!
04/12/2026
Flying Roos win again – for now 🇦🇺
It’s yet another dominant performance from the BONDS Flying Roos, but we’re being told they made contact with Switzerland and may have damage and be facing a potential penalty. More as we have it.
04/12/2026
It's close for the lead! 🐓 🦘
The BONDS Flying Roos close in on Los Gallos for the lead – the Spanish defend hard but are hit with a penalty for fouling. The Aussies lead again into leg 6!
04/12/2026
It's busy out there! ⛵️⛵️⛵️
It looks more like the 405 at rush hour out on the course at the moment, but U.S. SailGP Team has broken out of the congestion and is up on the foils, running well in P5.
04/12/2026
Tricky conditions ☁️
The wind is seriously changeable out there, and the field is split almost equally between left and right turns at Gate 2.
04/12/2026
Los Gallos lead 🇪🇸
Spanish squad Los Gallos get up on the foils and get the holeshot, shooting off into the lead. It’s ROCKWOOL Denmark in P2, but another strong start for the Crew – we’re P3!
04/12/2026
What a start! 💪
The Crew get a fantastic start – Emirates GBR threaded the needle from miles back but are hit with a penalty for not giving room. Leaders the BONDS Flying Roos have been penalized too – this could be anyone’s race as the crews struggle to get up and foiling.
04/12/2026
Race 6 is almost go 👈
There’s the one-minute klaxon – the teams are working their way into the starting box for the sixth race of the weekend.
04/12/2026
P3 in the fleet standings 👏
After another P5 finish in Race 5, the U.S. SailGP Team is still in the running for the Final, sitting P3 in the fleet race standings with 33 points. Artemis Sweden are a point ahead in P2, but the BONDS Flying Roos are starting to run away in P1 with 38 points.
04/12/2026
Another win for the Roos 🇦🇺
Event leaders the BONDS Flying Roos were near untouchable there, only briefly losing the lead once. Then it’s Red Bull Italy, Artemis Sweden and Los Gallos, with another P5 for the U.S. SailGP Team – that’s another six points in the bag!
04/12/2026
Racing Los Gallos for P4 🐓
Taylor and the Crew have worked their way up to P5, and are now jostling with Spanish squad Los Gallos for P4 as we enter leg 5. Emirates GBR and Germany Deutsche Bank are having a torrid time at the back of the field.
04/12/2026
Flying Roos back on top 🦘
That lead change didn’t last long – the BONDS Flying Roos are back in the lead. The U.S. SailGP Team continues to run P6.
04/12/2026
Jostling for the lead 🇦🇺 🇮🇹 🇸🇪
The Flying Roos have hit a pocket of light air, leaving the door open for Red Bull Italy and Artemis Sweden – the Italians take the lead, but the Aussies aren’t giving in.
04/12/2026
Lots of left turning 👈
Only Artemis Sweden and Los Gallos opt to turn right at Gate 2. The BONDS Flying Roos still have a commanding lead; the Crew is up to P6!
04/12/2026
They're off! ⛵️
It’s a phenomenal start for the BONDS Flying Roos, with Artemis Sweden running P2. These two squads have been running fantastically all weekend so far. The U.S SailGP team sits P7.
04/12/2026
Expect higher speeds today 💨
Winds are a little higher than yesterday, with gusts of up to 32k/mh. High-speed rudders, light air foils and the 27.5m wing are today’s configuration. Crews are five up – Andrew Campbell is off the boat for this one. As a reminder, the Black Foils are still out of action so we’ve got 12 teams lining up.
04/12/2026
T-minus 10 minutes 🚀
Race 5 of the weekend, and the first of Sunday, is scheduled for 15:08 local time. ICYMI, the U.S. SailGP Team sits in second in the fleet race standings after a strong Saturday, putting us in a great position to aim for today’s final. Come on team! 💪

Welcome back for Day 2 ✌️
Well, it’s all to play for on Day 2 of the ENEL Rio Sail Grand Prix.
The U.S. SailGP Team didn’t finish lower than P5 in an impressive showing on Day 1, leaving them P2 overnight – just one point behind the BONDS Flying Roos.
But everything can change in a race. We’ve got three more today, in slightly windier conditions, so stay tuned!
04/11/2026
A fantastic Saturday for The Crew! 🇺🇸
That’s third, fourth, fifth, fifth in the first four races for the U.S. SailGP Team. Those consistent results put us second in the overall fleet race standings with 27 points, just a single point behind leaders the Bonds Flying Roos and in a seriously strong position to aim for tomorrow’s final. What an afternoon of racing in Rio – bring on tomorrow!
04/11/2026
What a race! 🏁
It’s an exciting battle for seventh as Mubadala Brazil keeps it super tight with Red Bull Italy, only just giving the Italians enough space at the final mark. What a way to round out the Rolex SailGP Championship’s first day of racing in South America!
04/11/2026
Another great finish for The Crew! 👏
It’s fifth again for the U.S. SailGP Team in the final race of the day! That’s another six points to add to the tally.
04/11/2026
It's all happening at the front! 🏅
Germany Deutsche Bank gets up on the foils and passes Rockwool Denmark for second, then keeps up the momentum to pass the Bonds Flying Roos to take the win at the last second! It’s more bad news for the Aussies as they’re hit with a penalty for fouling Switzerland, dropping them to third behind Denmark.
04/11/2026
It's busy out there!
There are boats all over the track as different teams opt for different tactics. The U.S. SailGP hangs onto sixth as we pass the halfway mark, though.
04/11/2026
Tricky first gybe 😣
The U.S. SailGP team loses some ground in the first gybe – we’re down in sixth now, with AUS still leading.
04/11/2026
Another great start! 🇺🇸
The U.S. SailGP Team nails the start and is side-by-side for the lead with the Bonds Flying Roos for Gate 1!
04/11/2026
Race 4, let's goooo! 🌊
The teams are lining up for the final race of the afternoon. Let’s hope for another strong result!
04/11/2026
Consistency is key 🔑
A third, fourth and fifth brings the U.S. SailGP Team a strong haul of 21 points and puts them second in the event standings so far. It’s Artemis Sweden leading proceedings and the Bonds Flying Roos rounding out the rostrum spots. Race 4 kicking off soon!
04/11/2026
More points in the bag 💰
Red Bull Italy never really had much competition for Race 3, and Rockwool Denmark take second after a quiet start to the weekend. It’s the Bonds Flying Roos and DS Automobiles France after that, but the U.S. SailGP Team comes home in fifth, adding another six points to add to a strong tally so far. Taylor and The Crew really know how to deal with these light conditions!
04/11/2026
Italy controlling this one 🇮🇹
We’re in leg 5 of 6, and Red Bull Italy has absolutely dominated this one so far. It’s ITA, DEN, FRA, AUS and then the U.S. SailGP Team.
04/11/2026
Not seeing a lot of foiling 🤔
Some teams are choosing to stay off the foils and take shorter routes, but Canfield and The Crew are up on the foils and running fast in fifth.
04/11/2026
Underway with race 3️⃣
Great news for the local fans as Mubadala Brazil have solved their telemetry issues and line up for the start of race 3. This time it’s Red Bull Italy with the strongest start, but the U.S. SailGP Team continues its strong weekend and runs fourth.
04/11/2026
A great start to the weekend 💪
With two fleet races done, the U.S. SailGP team sits third in the event standings with 15 points. Let’s keep this momentum up and aim for another appearance in the final!
04/11/2026
Great play from Canfield for fourth! 🇺🇸
Taylor Canfield and the rest of The Crew take full advantage of a slowing Emirates GBR boat to swoop around the outside of the final gate and take fourth! Northstar Canada manage to pip the Brits to the line too. That’s another 7 points in the bag for the U.S. SailGP Team.
04/11/2026
Los Gallos take the win 🐓
It was another close finish as Artemis took a tactical gamble, making an extra turn to pick up a stronger wind, but the race-long leaders Los Gallos just take the win in Race 2.
04/11/2026
Los Gallos in control of Race 2 🇪🇸
The Spanish Los Gallos team currently has a commanding lead as we pass the halfway point, with Germany Deutsche Bank and Artemis Sweden completing the podium spots. The U.S. SailGP team continues to run strongly in fourth.
04/11/2026
Great start for The Crew! 🗽
The U.S. SailGP gets the start almost perfect, but loses out to Switzerland, Artemis Sweden and Los Gallos at Gate 1. Currently running fifth.
04/11/2026
We're lining up for race 2️⃣
The boats are jostling for position as we get ready for the second race of the evening – still no Mubadala Brazil as a telemetry issue continues to rule them out.
04/11/2026
The U.S. SailGP team takes a podium 🥉
That was close! DS Automobiles France and Los Gallos were closing fast, but the U.S. SailGP team brings it home in third for Race 1 to pick up a solid 8 points. It’s the Bonds Flying Roos in second and Artemis Sweden on top.
04/11/2026
The Flying Roos fight back 🦘
The Bonds Flying Roos have absolutely surged from the mid-pack to take second – the U.S. SailGP Team hangs on to a podium spot, though!
04/11/2026
It's game over for the Brits 🇬🇧
Championship leaders Emirates GBR retire from Race 1 with issues with the foiling system.
04/11/2026
That's number 2️⃣
The positions just keep coming – the U.S. SailGP team moves up into second place! Only Artemis Sweden ahead.
04/11/2026
A steady race so far 🦥
Conditions are light here in Rio with 14km/h winds as we reach the halfway mark. The U.S. SailGP team has passed DS Automobiles France to retake third!
04/11/2026
We're in fourth! 🇺🇸
The U.S. SailGP team briefly takes third as they pass M1, but currently sits fourth behind FRA, ESP and SWE.
04/11/2026
They're off! 💨
It’s penalties for Northstar Canada and Red Bull Italy as they cross the line early.
04/11/2026
Technical issues for Brazil! 🇧🇷
It’s early disappointment for the home team, as Mubadala Brazil are facing technical issues and won’t line up for race 1.
04/11/2026
Seven minutes until race 1 begins 🌊
We’re four up for this event, with just the one grinder on board and strategist Andrew Campbell on the sidelines – it’s Taylor, Michael, Hans and Anna on the boat.
