What will the weather be like for the Bermuda Sail Grand Prix?
Warm but potentially wet conditions are forecast on the islands this weekend, with temperatures between 75-77f across the weekend. Crucially, wind could be up to 19 km/hr with gusts in excess of 40 km/hr.
Who will be racing at the Bermuda Sail Grand Prix?
There will be 12 boats in the start box in Bermuda once more, with New Zealand Black Foils still ruled out.
SailGP Technologies are working hard to repair the Kiwis’ boat with a return for Halifax, Canada, the aim between June 20-21.
How does a SailGP Event work?
The entire fleet takes part in seven fleet races across Saturday (4) and Sunday (3). Points are awarded based on position with 10 going to each race winner, all the way to 1 point for 10th. Anyone placed 11th or lower gets zero points.
After seven races, the three teams with the most points contest a winner-takes-all Final.
Event points are then distributed based on the same criteria, with the event winner adding 10 to their seasonal tally, P2 taking 9 points, P3 taking 8 points and so on.
What happened at the Rio Sail Grand Prix?
The BONDS Flying Roos became the first multi event winners of the 2026 Season at the inaugural ENEL Rio Sail Grand Prix with a blistering Sunday display.
Tom Slingsby’s team won all three fleet races to secure their Final berth before blowing away Los Gallos and first-time finalists Artemis in the winner-takes-all Final.
For the U.S. SailGP Team, a P4 finish was another strong showing on the back of that unforgettable Sydney win, leaving Taylor Canfield’s crew P3 in the Championship standings.
Three-time winners the BONDS Flying Roos (35pts) climbed back to the top of the pile after Rio with Emirates GBR (28pts) needing an improved showing in Bermuda after failing to make the Final last time out. Rounding out the top three is the U.S. SailGP Team (27 pts).
Los Gallos (25pts) and Artemis (23pts) will both have eyes on breaking into the top three this weekend, though.
